Dylan is Managing Director of The Redlands Group Inc., and an innovative and accomplished Senior Safety, Health and Education Executive with a variety of solid contributions in public, private and not-for-profit sectors.
With extensive experience in safety, health and education program and system research, design and implementation, Dylan also is a Certified Health and Safety Consultant (CHSC) and Canadian Risk Manager (CRM). Dylan has held a number of executive level positions including Director, Occupational Health & Safety and Vice President, Safety as well as a number of positions including national responsibilities for Training and Risk Management with the Property and Causality insurance industry. He is very comfortable in a fast paced multiple priority environments and is always accepting of a challenge. Knowing the value of great customer service, he consistently delivers projects on time and on target.
Dylan works diligently to stays current on industry challenges, trends and best practices, so that he can make immediate contributions to any conversation, consulting, program or project.
Dylan can effectively engage and persuade individuals at any level of the organization. He can effectively envision and communicate strategic goals, build buy-in and commitment, and enlist the efforts of others in support of achieving positive outcomes that contribute to the organization’s overall success.
With his strong personal drive to pursue and achieve professional excellence, he not only works to excel in his own professional development, he works to mentor and energizes members of work groups to achieve their full potential.
Dylan also serves in the following volunteer roles:
- Standards Council of Canada – Technical Committee developing ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems
- Canadian Standards Association (CSA Group)
- Technical Committee Chair, Z1001-13 Occupational Health & Safety Training
- Technical Committee Member for Z1002-12 – Occupational health and safety – Hazard identification, elimination and risk assessment and control
- OHS Strategic Steering Committee providing feedback and guidance on the future focus of OHS Standards development.
Jack Slyford has more than forty years of experience in the transportation and logistics industries holding various roles Operations, Loss Prevention, Training & Development as well as Human Resources. During his career, Jack has earned the Certified Trucking Manager (CTM) from the Ontario Trucking Association and continuing professional development at the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Business.
He has successfully held positions starting from the front line as a Courier Driver and progressed through the ranks in Supervisory, General Management and Senior Management levels. Since 1998 he has focused on delivering results for organizations in Health & Safety including successfully managing WSIB & WCB (PIR) Programs returning refunds for employers in excess of $5.5 Million over a 7-year period.
In addition to his well-rounded work experience, Jack dedicated over seven years of Military Service in the Canadian Armed Forces (honorable discharge 1971) where he learned and developed his training and observation skills.
